Use this guide to explore our class levels, understand what to expect, and find the best place to begin.

Beginner / Foundation

Best For: First-Time Students & Building Strong Foundations

New to Pilates or the reformer? This is the perfect place to start.

Our Beginner / Foundation classes introduce you to the equipment, essential Pilates movements, proper alignment, and foundational techniques at a comfortable, supportive pace.

You'll have time to become familiar with the reformer, ask questions, and develop an understanding of how to move with control and intention.

What to Expect:

  • Introduction to the reformer and equipment

  • Foundational Pilates movements and techniques

  • Emphasis on alignment, breathing, and body awareness

  • A slower pace with plenty of instructor guidance

Good to Know: Even experienced students can benefit from returning to Foundation classes to refine technique and strengthen their practice.

Mixed Level

Best For: Students With Some Pilates Experience & Those Building Confidence

Mixed Level classes welcome students with a range of experience, offering a balanced combination of foundational exercises and more challenging progressions.

Your instructor will guide the class through shared movements while offering modifications and variations to accommodate different experience levels.

What to Expect:

  • A combination of foundational and progressive exercises

  • Options to increase or decrease difficulty

  • Continued focus on alignment, strength, and control

  • A supportive environment for building confidence

Good to Know: If you've never used Pilates equipment before, we recommend attending Beginner / Foundation classes first.

PilatesFit

Best For: Students Seeking a More Fitness-Focused Pilates Experience

PilatesFit brings a more energetic, fitness-inspired approach to traditional Pilates while maintaining our emphasis on thoughtful, controlled movement.

Classes incorporate reformer exercises, standing springboard work, and small props to create a dynamic, full-body workout.

What to Expect:

  • Full-body strength and conditioning

  • Reformer and standing springboard exercises

  • Small equipment and props

  • A more energetic pace with continued attention to form

Good to Know: We recommend having some familiarity with Pilates equipment before attending PilatesFit.

Intermediate

Best For: Experienced Students Ready for Greater Challenge

Intermediate classes build on foundational Pilates skills with more complex movements, increased coordination, and a steadier class pace.

Students should already feel confident using the reformer independently and have a strong understanding of alignment, control, and equipment safety.

Before Joining Intermediate, You Should Be Able To:

Equipment & Safety

  • Follow spring-setting instructions independently

  • Use loops and foot straps without assistance

  • Move safely on and off the reformer

  • Keep up with a steadier class pace

Movement & Control

  • Maintain control of the carriage during familiar exercises

  • Maintain pelvic stability during footwork and abdominal exercises

  • Perform bridges with proper control and alignment

  • Demonstrate stability during balancing, kneeling, and lunging exercises

  • Respond to instructor cues and modify movements when appropriate

Important: Intermediate classes are designed for students who can currently exercise without restrictions. Instructor approval is required before booking.

Best For: Experienced Practitioners With Strong Control, Balance & Equipment Proficiency

Advanced classes introduce more demanding Pilates exercises, complex movement sequences, and a faster pace.

Before Joining Advanced, You Should Be Able To:

  • Demonstrate all Intermediate-level skills with confidence

  • Maintain strong control and balance during complex exercises

  • Perform single-leg bridges with proper stability

  • Safely execute lunges involving moving surfaces

  • Demonstrate proficiency with the Upstretch series

  • Adjust the Infinity Bar when instructed

  • Recognize when to progress, modify, or simplify an exercise

Your instructor will determine which advanced exercises are appropriate for the class.

Good to Know: Advanced Pilates isn't about pushing through pain or choosing the most difficult variation. It's about demonstrating the strength, awareness, and control to move safely and intentionally.

Instructor approval is required before booking Advanced classes.
